JANUARY 2012

January 2012..a busy month and also a very very sad month.
First a little catch up of December. The week before Christmas by doggie Chrissie got hit by a car. All good though. She is now my three legged Chrissie Dog. She was home for Christmas and well enough to wear her traditional out fit for the morning of  ' The Day '. ps Chrissie is named after this day ( I got her on Chritmas Eve ) and she was born on November 11, Her ' official ' name, oh la de da...giggles  is Christmas Remembrance English...Chrissie to us.
Also I never really ever though I would actually get or have a " white picket fence ' but thanx to Chrissie's accident..hubby built one for her in the front yard. So I guess it's not really mine but Chrissie's. She can go down the steps but not up, so Chrissie will give you a little whimper to come carry her up..if she's not heard..then she barks...it is kinda cute...

First I will 'show of ' my embroidery creations from Nana's Nook for the first month of the year.
Alvin the Chipmunk on a T-shirt for a little friend of the Nook.
Another for a little friend of the Nook, yes she is a Dragons supporter... on a t-shirt..
and a matching towel..thou I have been told she thinks it is too good to be used..might have to make a second one so she can use at least one of them, lol
I was excited to get a Puss in Boots embroidery design, so have used it a couple of times so far. Firstly on a handtowel
and again on a T-Shirt
I had not hand crocheted anything since I'd lost my best friend D in October. She was the Queen for crocheted hand towel toppers. When her daughter-in-law gave me two hand towels recently, I chose to crochet them in the style I know D would of done. Gave me such a good feeling and extra special as I used one of D's crochet hooks. I have returned the now finished handtowels to L. I am now looking forward to more crocheting ahead...

I have enjoyed making some embroidery hand towels for friends ... some variety is always fun xxx

My GS William (6) has a loose tooth. Well off I went to ' The Nook ' to make a Tooth Fairy Pillow. A little different from the ones I made years back. This is made like a little bag, it is much easier for the Tooth Fairy to find this handing off the door, from the end of the bed, etc then trying to find under a pillow. No lost tooth yet, we are still waiting.. but we are prepared !!
A quick little embroidery job...and simple. A Tea Towel for a machine dust cover..yep quick and easy and cheap....
So excited about these new designs...they are so cute and so different....and so much fun !! These are Dress Handtowel Toppers. There are 9 in the set, here are the six I have so far made.
Ballerina Dress...
 Cowgirl Dress...
 Frilly Dress...
 Nightgown Dress...
 Polka Dot Dress...
 Princess Dress...
Another set of new embroidery designs..bathroom theme..again there are nine in this set also. I have only made one so far..the toothbrush
I received a lovely gift from a friend of over 25 years. Go have a look at her Blog  My Friends Call me Nelly Also pop in to Nelly's Facebook Store Vintage Wishes  A very talented Lady indeed, who has an incredible love for vintage.  Here is my wonderful pressie....so cute.....Record Handbag ..I LOVE IT !! END OF MARCH MADNESS 2011

I didn't realise I had not posted up for a while, so this is a wrap up for the Month of March. I am very pleased to add a pic of my beautiful Granddaughter Holley wearing the sunflower Chip and Dale Chipmunk dress I made her. To this outfit I also made a pair of pants and a cute little hat. Same pattern as the dress, Simplicity 9784.

My  elderst daughter celebrates her birthday in March so i got busy and made 3 hand towels for her. She loves elephants, so of course they all included Elephants !

A robot shirt for Grandson William

Daughter Jessie was after some shirts for exercising so busy on the machine I got. I thought these were cute designs.

I had an order from a friend, so we have a mixed selection here.

A motorbike shirt

Little bear with pink ribbon handtowel

Elvis washer

St George Towel

The Nook's veranda is great. Here is pic of grandkids Shaylee and William playing on my 'big' table on the veranda...thanx D for the new addition of these toys to the Nook, they loved exploring all the new toys. It is great, they can still play there when it is raining. They enjoyed playing whilst I was sewing :) this is the view from my window...isn't that great !!

Granddaughter Shaylee in her pink Barbie dress I made for her. I have used McCalls Pattern M5792

My cousin Susan has welcomed a new grandson into her family this week..congrats to the family, so I have posted my parcel away containing a baby pack for the baby, comprising of a towel, washer and two burping bibs, and a towel set for 'big' brother.

I got my tank !!! ok, only temp signage..and I have to say very temp..fell off..., thinking I will put my signage (giggles) on the out side wall of the Nook. So excited about my little water tank  :)

A FULL DAY IN THE NOOK

Well a busy full day today. I made another 6 library bags, all parceled up ready to post tomorrow. I was so inspired making the library bags, I spent the rest of the day catching up with unfinished projects and parceling up others ready for posting. Also the verandah started being build with the wood floor. So have taken pics to show my day..do enjoy :)    Above (because I can't work out how to get my writing back up there) Is a baby parcel I had made in December but had not got it away, so am happy that today I have wrapped it ready to go. Below is three hand towels that I have machine embroidered and crocheted around for one of my nieces. I also made these a couple of weeks ago, so today I have sewn the buttons on and parceled up ready for posting tomorrow... the dragon flies were my inspiration to have dragon flies on my blog :) thanx Kylie xx
This is a frog machine embroidery and crochet hand towel for my Mum..yes ready to post. Also made in December, today again button sewn on and parceled ready to post :)
I made this baby set today. It consists of a machine embroidered towel, a crocheted washer, 2 burping bibs and a machine embroidered muslin wrap. I have made this for a friends first granddaughter in Toowoomba.
I made this baby set also today for one of Jessie's friends.
My veranah being built, and of course granddaughter Amelia helping Poppy.
This I made today. Its an EELS hand towel, but no matter how I tried taking the pic it is just not showing very well. This is for my friend in Toowoomba.

And today's 6 library bags I made. most certainly a full day for me :) I have really enjoyed my weekend in my Nana's Nook...
